Socially Inept
Crunch-time on some projects is definitely wearing on a coder. Been too tired to update my Brightkite location status even though I’m not going anywhere. 140 characters or less is a struggle to even sarcastically Twitter about my predicament. Luckily I’m a cross-posting ass so it looks like I’m active on my Plurk, Pownce, Facebook, LinkedIn, as well as the two mentioned above when I actually do update my status.
Speaking of cross-posting, Ping.fm is officially open beta! I use it to update my status on all the services I mentioned above. It’s growing in features all the time. Check them out!
Not That Kind of Library

jQuery and MooTools are killing me. When everything works right, they’re fast, simple, dynamic, and just plain cool to look at. Unfortunately, even when you follow directions explicitly that doesn’t necessarily guarantee success.
I’ve been having moments where a script won’t work (for example) with version 1.1.1, but it will work with version 1.1.1 that I stripped from someone’s site. So why won’t my 1.1.1 with all the features added work, but this other 1.1.1 will? I still don’t understand that. I’m not a developer in that sense. I can figure things out, but I don’t have the time to keep troubleshooting these issues that pop up. Anyone else out there have similar experiences?
Checking Me Out
Recently was accepted by Woopra. They do site metrics like Google Analytics but are more focused on what’s happening in real time. This measurement is possible by installing a Java based app that ties to a JavaScript code snippet you add to your site. It looks astounding, but so far it isn’t working with my site. I just don’t have the time to figure out why.
